A complex network of cross-country skiing trails surrounds Oberwielenbach and the easier routes pass by the Reischach sports area (5.5 km). With its 55 km of sunshine, valley and high-altitude trails, the nearby Antholzertal Valley (where the Biathlon World Cup is held) attracts experienced sportsmen from all around. The Rieserferner Mountain Range and Antholzersee Lake are among the other scenic attractions.
The high-altitude cross-country trails also run through the Plätzwiese pasture and Rein in Taufers, attracting numbers of experienced and dedicated cross-country skiers.
